1. While buying baby clothes make sure they are machine washable and it is always a good idea to wash all the new clothes before wearing.
2. Do up the zips and fastenings on clothes before machine washing as they can catch and pull delicate fabrics
3. Wash the baby items like socks, hats and gloves in an old pillowcase, as it can get lost in the machine.
