Each year baby bedding designers are becoming more and more creative. The reason is that they have realised that all parents are not for solid blues and pinks. The expectant parents have become choosier and looking for good and contemporary styles and designs. Apart, from the designs, the parents are choosing the beddings that are machine washable and easy to clean.

Cleaning Baby Bedding

There is different protocol for different baby bedding items such as blankets, sheets, pillows, duvet cover, pillow cover and so on. The cleaning of the baby bedding depends on the material it is made of. The label on the bedding item will have a clear instructions printed on it. The baby bedding has to be cleaned according to the instructions given on the label, because washing them incorrectly could result in damages. However, if the label has come off, then follow the instructions written on the washing machine or it can be dry-cleaned.

Different Fabrics And The Cleaning Methods

It is always advisable to buy cotton baby beddings. The reason being, it is a natural fiber and a versatile material and can be machine-washed at home. It is more durable than other fabrics and cool to use during the summers. However, if the cotton bedding is too large for the machine, it is advisable to give it for dry cleaning. It is important to pay attention to the temperature during washing and drying. The silk and woolen baby bedding is best dry washed. However, some brands of silk and woolen bedding can be hand washed too.

Type of Detergents used

Attention needs to be paid too, when using the detergents. Check the bedding label before washing. For baby bedding it is always better to use mild detergents that have no fragrance. Never use bleaching agents on the items that has the label ’ do not use bleach’. The reason is that the beach is a chemical, which can damage the fabric and the color of the bedding item.

Few more tips
Silk or nylon baby bedding should be either hand washed or dry-cleaned. They should not be exposed to sunlight. Any bedding that is acetate should never be line dried or machine dried. Bedding of polyester fabric should be hand washed and can be line dried.
