Cleaning Baby’s Clothes

The laundry doubles with the coming of the newborn into the family. Baby is a messy eater and the bibs tend to stain badly. The diapers need to be changed frequently. The mattress and the sheets need to be washed and so on. The new mother needs to be on her toes to see that she has a stock of clean baby clothes in the nursery closet.

How to clean baby’s clothes?

Many parents think that the baby’s clothes need to be washed using baby detergent. However, it becomes necessary only if the baby is suffering from allergies, eczema or other skin diseases. If the baby detergent is not helping in removing the stains or the odour, it is advisable to use the regular liquid detergent. Liquids detergents work for all types of clothes. Stain-removing detergents can be used to remove tough stains. It is advisable not to wash cloth diapers along with regular laundry because the strong detergents can cause diaper rash. The cloth diapers need to be washed with mild baby detergent. Avoid using anti-static products or fabric softeners. Also rinse the diapers in hot water. Wash the bibs after every meal, and hang them on the back of the high chair to dry. This way the bibs can be reused without having to use new ones at every meal.
